This humble tea towel was made in collaboration with the New Museum for the 2014 exhibition Night and Day.
Afromusesin its entirety presents over 181 watercolors created by Chris Ofili between 1995-2005. None of the works are intended as actual representations of real people. Instead, they are figurative expressions. These figures emerge from Ofili's personal references and impressions of memory, day-to-day life, and art history.
The watercolors were digitally printed onto the tea towels preserving the vibrancy of the original colors.
