"Primavera" (1477–1482) by Sandro Botticelli is a celebration of Spring, an ode to the transformative powers of fertility, freedom, desire, and unrequited feelings. Painted in the late fifteenth century, its origin is as mysterious as its history, despite being one of the defining pieces of the Italian Renaissance and one of the most famous paintings in the world. It is currently located at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
