One of Édouard Manet's most famous works, "Olympia" (1863), was modeled after Titian's "Venus of Urbino." It created a scandal at the 1865 Paris Salon as it depicted a sex worker reclining on a bed and boldly gazing out at the viewer. The painting currently hangs at the Musée d'Orsay.
