Known as the “Birth of Venus” (1485–6), Botticelli's famous Italian Renaissance painting depicts the origin myth of the goddess of love and beauty arriving fully grown to the island of Cyprus, born of the sea spray and blown there by the winds. It is currently located at the Uffizi in Florence, Italy.
