This tea towel showcases a detail from Khnumnakht's spectacularly painted coffin which was made in Egypt's Middle Kingdom and housed at The Met.

Khnumnakht (ca. 1850–1750 B.C.) is an unknown individual with the exception of his name, but his coffin is remarkably embellished with texts and decorative panels, including a goddess figure on the head end—a rarity before the late Middle Kingdom—and a pair of watchful eyes looking forth into the land of the living.
